The CFL Players’ Association Announces Partnership with the HWMFA
MEDIA ADVISORY September 26, 2013
For Immediate Release
Led by Joe Sardo, former Toronto Argonaut, the HWMFA “Play like the Pros” football skills camp is for ages 7-14 years, and takes place January through March. It is a non-contact, skills teaching camp that is designed to give each player a solid foundation in football fundamentals. CFLPA President Mike Morreale, along with several current and former CFL Players, will be on hand to teach participants the fundamentals of Canadian football.
“The HWMFA football skills camp is a great model for teaching basic football skills in way that focuses on player safety, a high priority for the CFLPA and essential for the continued growth of our sport.” Said Mike Morreale, President of the CFLPA. “The CFLPA is proud to support this program. It’s a great opportunity for CFL Players and Alumni to give back to these young football players and help them develop their football skills in a fun and safe way.”
Each participant will receive seven weeks of hands-on instruction as they participate in drills and new techniques.
Morreale, who has participated as a coach in previous HWMFA camps, had this to say: “I am looking forward to helping out at the next camp to help young receivers get better, and I hope to see some of these kids in a CFL jersey someday!”
